International Waterlily Collection

The International Waterlily Collection has been designated by the International Waterlily & Water Gardening Society as a premier collection of waterlilies. This collection is one man's life work with the mind of a scientist, the heart of a poet, and the soul that embodies preserving waterlily heritage for the generations to come. His name was Ken Landon.

On April 26, 2011, the 82nd Legislature of the State of Texas formally designated Nymphaea, "Texas Dawn," created by Ken Landon, as the Official Water Lily of the State of Texas.

The International Waterlily Collection can be found at Civic League Park, between Beauregard and Harris avenues on North Park Street. The collection is open to the public at no charge and has active flowering displays from April to October every year.

If you have never seen the collection, you are in for a pleasant surprise.
