Paintbrush alley

Paintbrush Alley is nestled in the alley behind Firestone on West Concho Avenue and the Texas Theater on West Twohig Avenue. Wandering through this free outdoor space, you will find bright paintings. Symbols of Texas culture encompass much of the alley's theme. For example, numerous murals are a homage to the 1957 movie Giant filmed in Marfa, Texas. In addition, the "Wall of Art History" was added in 2021. It is a collaboration of 5 artists Inx Davila, Che Bates, Maynard Zamora, Zoe Flores, and Alejandro Castanon, who painted modern recreations of well-known paintings.

Paintbrush Alley is facilitated by Downtown San Angelo, Inc. and Art In UnCommon Places. Over 50 local artists are showcased in this project to create a multi-medium experience of murals, mosaics, and metalwork.
